The VDV checks each conductor for opens, shorts, miswires, reversals, or split pairs, and can identify uplink/crossover cables. Results are displayed in a pin-to-pin format, with error types clearly shown on the screen. Shield continuity can also be tested on shielded RJ45 connectors and cables. In Voice Mode, the RJ11/12 port tests up to 6 conductors, similar to the Data test but tailored for voice applications. In Video Mode, the F port tests coax cables for opens and shorts on the pin and shield. Additionally, the built-in tone generator can tone each cable port by pin, by pair, or the entire cable, with four user-selectable analog tone patterns included. This comprehensive tool ensures accurate and efficient testing for all your voice, data, and video cable needs.
